Mundra: Tata Power, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL), has always remained committed towards the holistic development of the communities living in and around Mundra. In line with this commitment, Tata Power established the Fishermen Information Centre (FIC) at Tragadi Bunder Mundra to help the fishing community in Kutch district get access to quality infrastructure, healthcare, sanitation and clean drinking water.

The local fishing community had a low annual income and was under debt on account of their inability to earn good price. Recognising this need, Tata Power set up Fishermen Information Centre under the Company's ongoing Project Sagarbandhu to create a platform to help the community mobilise, strengthen and promote their produce.

Speaking on the establishment, KK Sharma, ED and CEO, CGPL stated, "Tata Power has undertaken several initiatives for the well-being and progress of the community. Our aim is to establish a strong support system for the progress of the fishermen community and increase their productivity by promoting best practices thereby improving their quality of life. The key to growth lies in information accessibility. The FIC has been set up to cater to the developmental needs of the fishermen community and work towards their social mobilisation. We thank NGO 'Swadeep' for their support and contribution and look forward to working together for the advancement of the community."
